ANASTASIA ORZECHOWSKI After a long and full life, Anastasia Orzechowski peacefully passed away in her 96th year with loving family at her side on January 25, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, sons Peter and Alec and grandson Demion. She is survived by her sons Nick (Rose) and Jim (Simone), daughters-in-law Joyce Orzechowski, and Karin West, her 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves family in Ukraine, Argentina and the United States. Anastasia was born in Dubno, Ukraine on March 9, 1907. She and Lawrence and their young son Nick immigrated to Canada in 1929 to realize their dreams for a bright future, a place to raise their family and to begin a life in business. Anastasia was a wonderful mother, diligent, helpful and with a wit and sense of humour that was as contemporary as today. Her particular joy, however, were her many grandchildren. No one was more precious to her. Baba or "Little" Baba and Gido were the best grandparents a child could wish for. The family would like to particularly thank the staff of the Sharon Home for their compassionate care and kindness this past year and a half and also a thank you to Dr. Jack Rusen for the attention he gave our mother. As she wished, cremation has occurred and there will be no funeral service. A blessing of her ashes and a private family memorial celebration with interment will follow at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined and if so desired, a donation may be made in memory of this strong, caring, classy lady to a charity of ones choice.
